Read this before submitting your web site:
Only animal related web sites will be considered for inclusion! Submissions
must be made from this page. Any submissions from other sources will summarily be
deleted without review or consideration.
We allow for a maximum of 15 individual keywords and a 30 word description (in
sentence format). The description will appear when your site comes up during the search.
Keep your description as short, informative and relevant as possible.
This search engine searches through the web site title, keywords, description and URL
(web site address). It is, therefore, not necessary or useful to repeat the title or
description in the keywords. The search engine does not give higher priority if
words are repeated. In fact, your site will get better exposure with a compact, relevant
variety of words. PLEASE, do not repeat words in your keywords which are already in
the web site title or description! The word animal and/or animals is assumed - unless
the word animal or animals is relevent to describing your site (for example, all animal
rescue) or part of the web site title, we omit the words animal and animals from all
submission. When using a term in its plural form (ie, cats,) the singular (cat) is
implied. It is not, therefore, necessary to put the singular into your keywords.
If your site is multilingual or not English, divide your title description so
that the primary language of your site (Latin alphabet only) is represented accompanied
by an English version (total word counts still apply). The primary language of the site
must always come first. - example
Au sujet des chiens - about
dogs
deviennent un expert au sujet de tout - be a know-it-all (French
only) or (French, English, German)etc
2 DON'Ts: Please don't use all caps except for anachronyms and
Please, PLEASE, if your first page meta forwards to another main page, please
submit that as a main page. "Meta-forward" main pages will not be indexed anyhow. Don't
submit sites prior to being open. Such request will be deleted without delay.
While we may (at our own discretion and under particular circumstances) accept
multiple page submissions from a site, attempts to flood this database will result in the
deletion of all of your pages from this search engine. If you have many different
(animal related) pages within your site, create a main page for your visitors and submit
that one only. Do not submit sub-pages if they are easily accessible from your main
page.
We audit all sites prior to adding it to the animal search database. Keep your
keywords and description relevant to the topic featured in your web site. We reserve the
right to edit descriptions and/or keywords.
Sites not eligible for inclusion: your affiliate pages on other commercial
sites
(i.e. http://www.someone_elses_shopping_site.dom/ID?your_account
or http://www.bookstore.dom/book_code/ID?your_code) URLs
such as these will not be included!
Prior to submitting your site, verify that your site is not already listed. To
do so, enter your domain name into the search window, eg, where your URL is
http://www.yourdomain.dom, enter yourserver.dom or where your URL is
http://www.yourserver.dom/~yourname, enter yourserver.dom/~yourname. To
notify us of changes, simply resubmit the form below with the corrected information and
the change button selected.
Want to get banned from this directory? Try treating us like fools - that'll do it!
Resubmitting your site on a regular basis or attempting to fill our database with
multiples from your site. Give us irrelevant submissions... All these will force us to
block a site from listing.
We accept that people make mistakes. We are not ogres but if you try making our job
more difficult we'll just close the door on your site. We do not allow submission
of multiple URLs for the same site/content. You might get away with it for a while but
eventually we will catch it and the offending site will never, never, NEVER
make it into this database again! We may overlook you initially but we're not stupid and
you won't put it over on us for very long. Help us to create a useful service.
Submission rules were created to allow us to build a good product for people searching
for quality content. We will do our best to disallow anyone from turning this project
into garbage.
Once you have submitted your request, please be patient, we require one to two weeks
to process submissions. You will be advised by E-mail if/when your site has been accepted
into the AnimalSearch.Net database. (Sites submitted with invalid E-mail addresse will be
removed. We would also like to remind you to keep your listing with us current. Keep us
posted of any URL or subject changes. We will remove your link if we find your URL no
longer functional/accessible or if your web site content is no longer animal related.
One final note: Following the rules for submission makes the job a lot easier. If we
don't have to waste time altering submissions so they conform to the
submissions/inclusion standards, your site (as well as all other submissions) will be
indexed more quickly. Your cooperation helps us to make this a better service for our
clients - and our clients are your clients!
